"Maine Feeds Maine": Statewide Community Discussion Series
-- CAN LOCAL FEED LOCAL NEED? --
Can Maine farmers feed the 15,000 kids who go to bed hungry every night in this state without working harder or less profitably than they do now? Could we all work together to develop a statewide network of local food producers supplying the homes, schools and restaurants of Maine with fresh and value-added local food? What would it look like? What would it cost? Who'd be taking the risks? Who'd own it?
Be part of a community discussion series that welcomes those with something positive to contribute to creating stronger Maine farm and food security. Get out of the box and hear some new ideas. Toss in a few cents of your own. Meet some new people interested in "local food". Listen, learn, and speak up as we explore ways to link local farmers and food consumers for mutual benefits.
